The Nigeria Group Tour Experience

9 Days / 8 Nights | $2,000 Per Person Sharing | Southwest Nigeria

Apply for June 27 to July 5, 2026 Tour

A Side of Nigeria Very Few Ever See

This is not a typical tour. Over nine days we will take you through Southwest Nigeria in a way that reveals the country in all of its contrasting complexity. From a UNESCO World Heritage Site where traditional Yoruba religion is still actively practiced, to the modern skyscrapers, art galleries, and restaurant scene of Lagos. From the most significant slave trade history site in West Africa to vibrant markets, waterfalls, cooking classes, and nightlife.

We do these trips differently than typical travel companies. Our focus is on culture, food, and genuine local experiences, while making sure every guest feels comfortable, safe, and taken care of from the moment they land to the moment they leave.

Where We Go

Our itinerary takes you through five distinct destinations across Southwest Nigeria, each with its own character, history, and energy.

Lagos

Nigeria’s largest city and one of the most dynamic cities in Africa. We spend the majority of our time here exploring its many layers, from the world class art galleries and craft markets to the legendary Fela Shrine, and some of the best food and nightlife on the continent. Lagos will surprise you.

Badagry

One of the most historically significant destinations in West Africa. Badagry was a central hub of the transatlantic slave trade, and our visit here includes the Badagry Heritage Museum, the Slave Trade Route, and the Point of No Return, the place where enslaved Africans took their final steps on the African continent. We also visit Badagry’s beautiful beaches and take a boat trip across the water. For many of our guests, particularly those of African descent, this is the most powerful day of the entire trip.

Abeokuta

A fascinating city built around one of Nigeria’s most iconic natural landmarks, Olumo Rock. Abeokuta played a significant role during the slave trade era as a refuge for the Egba people. We visit the rock, explore local markets including the famous Adire fabric market, and take in the city’s rich history and character.

Ibadan

Nigeria’s third largest city and a place of deep Yoruba culture and history. We do a full city tour, visit the National Unity Museum, and sit down for one of the best meals of the trip at a legendary local restaurant serving the famous Yoruba dish amala abula.

Osun State

The highlight of our entire itinerary. We visit the Osun Sacred Grove, a UNESCO World Heritage Site dedicated to the Yoruba goddess Osun, where traditional worshippers still come to practice their faith. We also visit the stunning Erin Ijesha Waterfall, one of the most beautiful natural sites in Nigeria.

What You Will Experience

Beyond the destinations, our tours are built around experiences that you simply cannot arrange on your own.

A hands on Adire workshop where you will learn the traditional Yoruba art of indigo tie-dye, a craft that has been practiced for centuries, and create your own piece to take home.

A Lagos market tour followed by a cooking class where you will shop for ingredients with local vendors, learn about Nigerian cuisine from the ground up, and sit down to eat the meal you helped prepare.

An optional visit to a Sunday church service in Lagos, which for many guests is one of the most joyful and memorable experiences of the entire trip.

An optional Lagos nightlife experience showing you the city after dark at its most electric.

Expert local guides throughout who go deeply into the history, culture, and stories behind every place we visit, giving you context and connection that no guidebook can provide.

Who This Tour is For

Our guests come from all over the world and all walks of life. Many are of African or Nigerian descent and are coming to connect with their heritage for the first time. Others are adventurous travelers drawn to a destination that most people overlook.
